You walk in needing one thing. Suddenly you are comparing unit prices like you work for a government agency. Why is the smaller one more expensive? Why is the “family size” emotionally smaller than expected? Why does one cereal have 17 versions? Why is the coupon written like a legal contract? And then there is the produce section. You pick up an avocado and pretend you know what information your hand is receiving. 🥑 Soft? Too soft? Spiritually ready? Nobody knows. We are all just standing there squeezing fruit with confidence we do not deserve. The grocery store is not shopping. It is problem solving under fluorescent lights.
