She wanted Paris. The bride wanted her honeymoon back.
Jul 31, 2026
When her brother offered to pay for a trip to Paris, she said yes almost immediately. It sounded perfect. Flights covered. Hotel covered. A beautiful city she had always wanted to visit. There was only one problem. It was her brother’s honeymoon. Her brother had suggested that she and her husband join him and his new wife after the wedding. He framed it like a generous family trip. She saw it as a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Her husband was uncomfortable from the beginning. He said a honeymoon should belong to the couple getting married. Even if the brother offered, it did not mean they should accept. She disagreed. Why turn down a free trip? Then the bride found out how serious the plan was and broke down. She had imagined a romantic honeymoon with her husband, not a shared vacation with his sister. That was when the wife realized the invitation had not been harmless. Her excitement had made her ignore the obvious. A free trip to Paris sounded amazing, but not if the cost was taking someone else’s honeymoon from them.
