She changed after having an affair, but I still can’t let go of that affair.

There are relationships that don’t end the moment betrayal happens. Sometimes both people still love each other. Sometimes the person who caused the hurt regrets it, takes responsibility, and tries everything to repair the damage. But the person who was hurt may still feel something has changed. Because forgiveness and trust are not the same thing. You can understand someone’s apology and still struggle with the memories. You can miss the person you built a life with and still feel unable to return to the way things were. The hardest part of betrayal is often not the moment you discover it. It’s the moment you realize the version of the relationship you believed in no longer exists. Then comes the hardest question: Not “Do I still love them?” But: “Can I create something new with someone after what happened?” Some wounds don’t disappear because someone says sorry. They heal only when trust slowly finds its way back.
