Every family has one container nobody is allowed to throw away

Nobody knows where it came from. It might be from takeout. It might be from 2009. It might not even have a matching lid. But if you try to throw it away, someone appears from another room like they sensed danger. “Don’t throw that out.” For what? Nobody knows. It is “useful.” That is the entire explanation. Useful for what? Soup? Screws? Leftovers? Emotional support? The container never gets used. It simply exists in the cabinet as part of the family inheritance. 🫠 Meanwhile, the drawer barely closes because it is full of containers nobody trusts but everyone respects. At some point, it stops being storage. It becomes tradition.
