A click. A rattle. A tiny scream when turning left. A sound that definitely did not exist before but now feels like part of the vehicle’s personality. Passengers always make it worse. “What’s that noise?” What noise? 🙂 Suddenly you are loyal to the sound. You defend it. “It always does that.” That sentence has carried millions of vehicles through questionable months. The truth is, car noises become real only when money is available. Until then, they are emotional background music. If the car still moves, we negotiate. If the dashboard light comes on, we observe. If the noise gets louder, we turn the radio up. That is not denial.
