Can I find the love of my life?
Jul 23, 2026
Someone shared a story that many people could relate to. She is in her mid-20s and has never been interested in casual dating, hookups, or situationships. She has always wanted a serious relationship that could eventually lead to marriage. She has been in three relationships. Her first relationship lasted a few years. At the time, she thought she loved him, but looking back, she realized their values were different, and she never truly imagined building a future with him. Her second relationship was her first real love. She gave everything to it, but he eventually ended things, and the breakup completely destroyed her at the time. Her third relationship moved very quickly. He called her his girlfriend, introduced her to his family and friends, and said he loved her early on. She accepted the relationship, but deep down she knew her feelings were not as strong. The relationship also became unhealthy because he had his own struggles. Then she met someone new. They talked for several weeks and she felt something she hadn’t felt in a long time. She thought: “Maybe this is the person.” They seemed like a perfect match. They talked about the future and even agreed to be exclusive. But after their first date, they had a small disagreement. And he disappeared. No explanation. No conversation. Just gone. Now she feels exhausted. She started questioning herself: “Am I too loyal?” “Do I give too much too soon?” “Should I act less available, even when I genuinely care about someone?” Because her biggest fear isn’t being alone. It’s giving someone her whole heart, only to find out they were never holding hers the same way. So here’s the question: Do you think loving someone fully is a beautiful quality, or do you think people need to protect themselves and hold back until they know the other person is equally invested?
